Thursday I drove from Lansing MI to Cincinnati OH, checked into a wonderful hotel that was about 7 blocks from the Great American Stadium home of the Cincinnati Reds!
I was able to spend some time in the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and was amazed at the depth of history that this city has with baseball! I was also impressed to see both Ken Griffey Sr & Jr were enshrined there!
I happened to sit next to a group of men who were friends from college and were doing a baseball Journey of their own, going to Major and Minor league games! It seems they chose a few venues each year, instead of trying to eat the entire elephant like me! I envy them in some ways, especially having the long-term camaraderie.
I do hope they have a great time and I know once this journey is complete I will look at the various possibilities of minor league baseball!
The Reds did start out on fire, with two home runs in the early innings, but their flames were doused by the Brewers, who came from behind and held the lead at the end of the night. I was a bit disappointed by the food options, mainly typical hot dogs (or Red-Hots) and lots of Beer options!
There is a Riverboat out in Left Center Field, but I was unable to take in the view onboard as they were hosting a private group for the game.
