Independence Day

On the fourth I celebrated my Independence at Wrigley Field, along with over 40,000 others!

It was a HOT day, and my seat along the right field line was in full sun. Fortunately I had my misting fan to help. The Cubs were hosting the Detroit Tigers and initially it was a close game 2-2 then the Cubs put up 3 more runs and held the Tigers to 2!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a Chef Series at Wrigley Field and Tony Mantuano from Spiaggia Cafe was the featured chef! I got a wonderful watermelon salad and happened to share a table with Tony and his wife.

The streets around the Stadium become part of the venue before and after the game! I had the hardest time trying to find the parking lot that I had bought a ticket for from StubHub, so after a long phone call they agreed to refund my money and I parked in the Taco Bell drive through which was converted to event parking and was only 2 blocks from the park!
