Chicago, Chicago that Toddling Town

I have no idea what Sinatra meant by toddling town, but since this was my second trip to Chicago on this journey the song sort of fits!

I had a little time off the road and visited my brother in Lansing again. While I love going to ballgames I do miss family so it was nice to see them again!

Yesterday I drove to Chicago to see the White Sox play.

They play in a Stadium named Guaranteed Rate Field (which is by far the worst name yet for a ballpark) I have no idea what the name even refers to, is it insurance or maybe a payday lender?

The park itself is not bad, but it’s kind of in an asphalt jungle, it would be great to see a Chicago ballpark lakeside so that home runs could splash in the water and secondary fans in kayaks could retrieve them like McCovey Cove!

There’s a Stadium Club and for about $6.00 you can get access and it was great! They have wonderful food options and drinks. When I was a young girl at Candlestick during the game my brothers were in the dugout but I couldn’t because of my gender so I would wander around the stadium and visit the Stadium Club where a woman named Betty would treat me like a princess, last night I met Mary who works in the White Sox Stadium Club and she rekindled those great memories.

The KC Royals were the visitors and the game was quite exciting, each time the Sox took the lead the Royals would inch back. There is quite a display when the Sox get a Home Run and there were fireworks after the game as well!

Ironically while Uber is supposed to be a sponsor after the game police blocked Uber drivers from getting to the pickup point for about 15 minutes.

As I get closer to the end of this journey I am thinking about my next adventure and hoping that the folks I have met along the way will keep in touch and share their stories! I plan to keep this domain name and am happy to share it with others!
